Ipower 5000 series schematics and block diagramme and freezing problem. Some of the Ipower 5541/5542 notebooks suffer from some known problems. Such as: Shaking or jumping display, blocky, partial frame collapse, freezing or dead. the problems relate to the graphics processing circuit Although the correct diagnosis is not known, it is assumed that the problem lies with the motherboard shorting to the case. In many situations the problem can be temporarily overcome by loosening a screw * on the base of the laptop. In most cases this seems to alleviate the problem but other measures may need to be taken which involve opening the notebook. These measures are not a definite "fix" for this problem but may help. On the base there is a square metal plate
in the upper right hand corner about 3" square. It is thought that this plate
when hot may slightly curl up at the end and short the motherboard, it may be a
good idea to cover this plate completely with electrical tape but not over the
rubber pads. Block diagramme
